Can't Get Key Out Of Ignition Camaro

Theres the same yellow switch that the Camaro has but its on the opposite side of the ignition to the Camaro.

Can't get key out of ignition camaro. Cant turn ignition to get key out. 3 times now. Couldnt get the key out after turning off the engine without realizing disco wasnt in PARK.

Average repair cost is 350 at 28850 miles. Ok heres whats happening1980 Camaro T-350 auto trans When I put the car in park it will still roll and I cannot turn the ignition back to remove the key. FIX- Remove plastic cover on steering column.

Pull the steering wheel in the direction that has give and hold it there. This can involve having the key removed changing the ignition. Twice I pushed in on the release tab on the ignition that you use to take the key out and it turned.

Most car with headers have it disabled and if the lever at the bottom of the column isnt wired up all the way the collar at the top of the column isnt turned counter-clockwise all the way and you cant get the key out. To fix this grab hold of the column on the on the lower section of the colum right near where it meets the dash and turn this section counter clockwise till it stops. But my Cobalt had a cover on the bottom of the steering column surround where you could reach in and slide the key release over to pull the key out.

This is our recommended order to do them in. This morning nothing I screwed with the shifter the wheel the tab no turn. WTF I cant have this once the Camaro is in storage.
